Acupuncture for Smoking Cessation
Acupuncture has been shown to be an effective method of helping people to quit smoking. Treatments are done while you are seated in a chair, sully clothed and take about 30 minutes. Acupuncture treatments are commonly done twice per week for the first 2 to 3 weeks while you are quitting smoking. Sometimes the treatments are continued at a frequency of once per week for 2 to 4 weeks after that. If there is a high level of stress, either from the process of quitting smoking or from other factors, longer treatments where you are laying down may be more effective. We will outline a plan for you at your initial consult for smoking cessation.
